Who is Jetse Bremer?

Jetse Bremer (09.05.59) is a well-known Dutch composer / arranger, who is specialized in writing vocal group arrangements and composition.

His preference for vocal music has to do with his background - he used to be a singer in the famous Netherlands Chamber Choir,
(picture to the right) but also his skill as a pianist and his conducting of choirs and musicals have had a lot of influence on his writing.

He has built up a reputation as composer and arranger, and many groups sing his arrangements: Divina, Dekoor, the Erasmus Kamerkoor, the Netherlands Chamber Choir and many well-known amateur choirs.

Now familiar to a wide audience are his arrangements of Dutch Folk- and Christmas Songs. (See CDs.)

His style of writing lies mainly in the areas of pop and jazz, but he has also written in more classical and modern styles.(see vocal group 1 / 2 and musicals for choir).

Over the last few years he has concentrated increasingly on composing a cappella pieces for the theatre and musicals for choir, for example: 'Steen', for Actors, Choir and Brass Band, 'Zand erover' and 'Golven' two a cappella music theatre performances (SSAATTBB), 'Trein' for SSAA with piano,
an oratorio: 'Een zee van leugens', een little musical for children: 'Niet vergeten' and a musical with full orchestra: 'Goede Buren'. With the exception of 'Steen' and 'Golven' the lyrics for all these works are by the well-known writer Wilbert Friederichs.

Jetse Bremer is currently the musical director of 'Fem@il' in Almere, 'Close Up' in Alkmaar, 'Divina' in Utrecht, and
'Be Sharp' in Utrecht,
